Dust Collectors
Air Cleaning Process

Dust Control Equipment

Cement dust, dirt, weld smoke and other contaminates that cause indoor air pollution can be cleaned from plant environments using dust control equipment. Besser offers various types of dust collection equipment including the reverse air, mechanical shaker, horizontal cartridge and vertical cartridge units.

Each type is designed for optimum dust control, maximum efficiency and ease of maintenance. Removal efficiencies approach 99.9% depending on the application.

Baghouses:

Model 60-7000A

The Model 60-7000A is a three compartment reverse air baghouse. Emissions can be collected from the entire plant, cement silos, cement batcher and mixer. Reclaim packages are available to move the collected contents to a remote site where it can be stored for later use or discarded appropriately.

Ease of maintenance was a priority in designing the 60-7000A. Quick latch inspection doors are standard on the top and bottom of each compartment. Bags are easily replaced with the spring tensioned top connections and snap in bottom connections. The tri-valve mechanism reverses pressure in one compartment at a time for bag cleaning and is controlled by a timer that can be set to your specific needs. The blower is direct coupled, eliminating the need for sheaves and V-belts.

DCS - 260

The DCS-260 is equipped with forty-two, 4-½" x 67" (112.5 mm x 1675 mm) snap in seamless polyester bags. Bags are cleaned by a bag shaker which is controlled by a timer to set cleaning intervals. Each DCS-260 serves one piece of equipment. Units are ducted directly to the piece of equipment served.

DCS - 14S

The unique non-mechanical operation of the DCS - 14S provides a low cost, low  maintenance alternative for displacing air in a cement batcher. The system uses fourteen 4-½" x 16" (112.5 mm x 400 mm) long spun polyester snap in collection bags which are cleaned using automatic reversing air flow.

Horizontal and Vertical Dust Collectors:

Horizontal and vertical cartridge units utilize pleated filters which provide maximum air to cloth area for optimum dust collection. These dust collectors require less floor space than typical baghouse styles. Both systems are designed for simple filter changes and maintenance.

Horizontal Cartridge Dust Collectors

The design allows for access to the entire dirty air chamber through a single cartridge plenum access door. Filter change-out and chamber cleaning is accomplished without removing several doors or covers.

Vertical Cartridge Dust Collectors

Vertical cartridge dust collectors are the perfect choice for plants with space constraints. Since filters stand vertically, the footprint of the unit is reduced. A variety of system configurations are available. Modules are available in one, two or three cartridge widths and depths up to four cartridges. A unique CAM-LOC cartridge locking mechanism securely seals the cartridge header plate to the tube sheet to prevent dust bypass.

The Cleaning Process

"Pulse" Filter Cleaning Alternatives

Continuous Cleaning Process:
This process prolongs the life of the cartridge filters; each filter is cleaned by a high pressure pulse of reverse air flow which travels through the center of the filter. This "pulse" of air flow blows the collected dust off the outside of the filter cartridges into a hopper below. The pulse filter cleaning operation is pre-set to clean filters simultaneously while maintaining equipment operation.

On-Demand Cleaning Process:
The Photohelic Differential Pressure Switch/Gage is set to clean only when the level of collected contaminant reaches a threshold level.

After Hours Cleaning Process:
An off-time is provided for continuous cartridge blowdown up to ten minutes after the fan operation is shut off. This allows for smaller particulate to be removed from the system and avoids re-entrainment.
