Benefits
Low-inertia, multiple disc design, oil-shear "cushioning," and
advanced friction materials give smooth, precise stops with less stress
and wear on Besser-Matic® drive motors. The heat of braking is absorbed
into recirculating oil, not just the friction surfaces, then dissipated
through the brake housing. This greatly reduces wear and extends the
life of the friction discs. Cushioned engagement minimizes shock loads
throughout the drive system. This results in a long, reliable service
life – many times greater than the friction material life of ordinary
dry-friction motor brakes.
