Besser Field Staff Grows

Elwood Palmer is the newest member of the Besser technical service department. Technical service representatives provide assistance to Besser customers by installing and repairing equipment and providing training and support for concrete masonry producers. Elwood prepared for this new role byElwood Palmer attending several Blockmakers Workshop® courses. So far he has completed the Concrete Masonry Technology, Vibrapac and Advanced Vibrapac Production, Dynapac Production and the Electronic Controls courses. Elwood also spent several weeks working in the mid-Atlantic area of the United States with Besser representative Rich Matzke.

Elwood began his career with Besser Alpena in 1978 in the manufacturing area. Prior to joining technical service, he worked in the heavy machines department. "The great thing about moving to a technical service position is that now I will be able to see the Besser machinery that I helped build put into actual production," stated Elwood.

 

H. Dewyane Barron is the new Besser senior technical advisor. In this position, Dewyane will act as turnkey project manager for the Besser Family of Companies. He will coordinate the supply of Besser equipment, installation and start-up of turnkey projects and will make sure that contractual obligations are met. Dewyane will also coordinate the resolution of performance issues relative to Besser equipment and installations by providing on-site supervision. He will work out of West Palm Beach, Florida.Dewayne Barron

Dewyane was formerly the south region operations manager for CSR Rinker in Florida. He was responsible for safety, cost control, capital expenditures, quality and plant appearance for the CSR manufacturing facilities in the south region. Other functions included overseeing plant production, inventories, plant maintenance and storage yard layouts. Dewyane spent most of his 23-year career in the concrete products industry at CSR Rinker working as a manufacturing administrative assistant, regional block manufacturing superintendent or maintenance manager - block manufacturing. Prior to his career, Dewyane attended the US Army School of Maintenance and the US Army School of Basic and Advanced Electricity.
