RELEASE For more information contact: New Master Blockmakers™ The number of Master Blockmakers™ continues to increase as more Blockmaker Workshops® are completed at Alpena Community College in Alpena, Michigan. Juan Carlos Arguello is the first person from Concretos de Honduras of San Pedro Sula, Honduras to become a Master Blockmaker™. Juan Carlos completed the Electronic Controls course in February, 2000. Bruce Birenbaum is the third employee of Bend Industries of West Bend, Wisconsin to complete the requirements set forth by the Master Blockmaker™ program. Brian attended the Electronic Controls course in February, 2000. F. Winston Penley of Johnson Concrete in Willow Springs, North Carolina also attended the Electronic Controls course in February, 2000. Winston may be the trend setter for his company as he is the first person from Johnson Concrete to earn this prestigious title. Blockmakers Workshops® originated in 1954 to assist in developing qualified professionals in the concrete products industry. The workshops are a joint partnership between Alpena Community College and Besser Company of Alpena, Michigan. A Master Blockmaker™ is someone who has successfully completed five predetermined courses that prepare the individual in the efficient and effective production of quality concrete products.
